There is no point! lol! l do not consider it a sport.

Yes it should and do not criticize it just because you do not understand it. Curling is very popular in many parts of the world, just not so big in the USA. But it was one of the best attended sports at the Turin games, averaging over 90 percent of stadium capacity for every single round. It was also pretty much the only sport to have every match shown on US television, even if it was buried on an smaller cable network instead of the main NBC feed.

You could argue for all sports.did you know once that ballroom dancing was once an olympic sport? well l think that sports in Olympics should be worldwide, so it is contended international countries. so not just the US or Austria. l think that curling may be percieved as ''Canada is sport'' but canada has only won 2 gold medals with both men and women . l thought they were the powerhouse!

curling is my favorite sport to watch! even if you have no clue what the point is, its still funny to watch the people shouting out stuff and watching the little sweepers go at it with their brooms.

Yes, it should remain an Olympic sport. It is second only to hockey in Canada. It is popularity is growing almost exponentially in the US. It is Scottish in origin, like so many great things (golf, whiskey to name a couple).

As for its ''lack'' of athleticism, try sweeping a stone so it will curl around a rock & travel ten feet behind it to score & not break a sweat.

On top of that, it is very challenging mentally, much like a chess match. Only not as long fortunately (2 1/2 hours long tops at the international level).

If u or anyone else has serious questions about the sport, contact ur national curling governing body. They should able to put u in touch with the nearest curling club in ur area. If there is not one in ur area, they should be able to answer most of ur questions.

Yes. l felt that the curling was pretty much the most entertaing part of the whole thing. What is the point of the biathalon or ice dancing? If you are critical enough you can find reasons to dump most olympic events. But if you think about it most of the events are not for the US. They reflect the world and their likes and dislikes. So, if we can field a team that does well in those events, all the better for us.

Of course it should be, any sport that is decided Man v Man is worthy. However silly 'events' that are decided by corrupt, flatulent judges should not be.
