Rossignol make really good skis for the beginner/intermediate level l am really not sure about the size espcially since they are often listed in the metric system instead of pounds and inches, they use centimeters and kilograms. But go to Rossignol.com and check it out.

l would recommend checking in with a rental shop when u get to the mountain, with the new parabolic ski technology & even a ''smart ski'' (see link below)try out some demo is before & if u decide to buy, if u a ''couple times a season'' skier l wouldnt buy at all, & always rent. that way u get to ski on new tech every time.

the binding is the most important aspect of skiing levels.do not lie about ur height weight or ability level here!

the only question u need to ask ur self is, ''how fast do l want to go!''

l would go to a shop & have them help you. However, if thats not an option or if u r buying online l would suggest anywhere from 171cm-185cm. It depends on the ski & how long u plan on having them & what u use them for. l am 6'1 & 190lbs & have three pairs of skis. One for fast powder & crud 198cm(do not get skis this long they're only used for going fast without turning). One for deep powder & trees 188cm & one for park & pipe 178cm. l use all three & each has their benefits. If u r looking to become an advanced skier & ski in the west (aka powder & crud) then l would suggest the Volkl Mantra. Its stiff enough for us larger guys & floats in powder but still rips the groomers. If u live back east & only ski ice then l am not much help on a specific ski. If u do not ski much powder l would get a 180cm ski with about 80mm underfoot width. Good Luck

carving - shorter then your height
Bindings should carry your weight
Depending on your style u should coose one or what is that u want 2 do.First decide then select one.
Beginners should go 4 carving tough

Great boards are Burton, Santa Cruz, Forum and of course many otheres. Go to Burtons website. burton.com then go to gear bottom right corner it will help you get fitted for a board. l used the same but went with Santa Cruz as l am close to Santa Cruz support my local homies and used there stuff growing up on skateboards. Im sure you will be pleased. Good luck!
