l do not play it and have never tried but l recognise it is a skill. To exclude it would then raise questions about Archery, Beach Volley Ball, Football(soccer) etc.

Soccer players kick a ball around and into a net. Basketball players throw a ball into a net. Baseball players throw and hit and catch a ball. Football players throw and catch a ball.

Stop knocking a sport when you can make a similar case for any sport.
