I am doing a project on Ski Jumping, and l need to discuss ski jumping profitablity.My many searches on the Internet have led me nowhere! l basically need to know how Ski Jumping makes profits.

Sponsors. If you want to make money at it, you have to be one of the best. Then companies will pay you to promote their product.

Also, rewards from competitions.

Most amature sports like ski jumping are just done for the competition and in rare cases the prestidge of winning a world or olympic medal. l could be wrong, but l do not think that ski jumping is very lucrative.

The popularity of sport depends on the public & on the people, who do it. You have to make it attractive to people, but for winter sports it is a difficult job, coz there r not usually good conditions. For example, football is so popular, coz it can be played everywhere, even in the snow. But to do ski jumping u will need snow, skies, trampoline, good weather conditions & a person who is not afraid to jump :) MAybe u will need a star-person like Madonna who is willing to jump & make it popular.

Ski Jumping. SOme amazing stuff there. The profitability of the whole thing is the spectacularity of the event; flights of over 245 metres on such giants flying hills such as Planica, Slovenia, where the world record of 248,5 metres was also set during the 04-05 season is finale. Over 130 000 people visit the event over three days, & if u have been there u can agree it is spectacular. However, the sport is really only pushing the limits of human capabilities, & if wehave never been capable of flying without airplanes or machines, that is as close as yo get to it. Sponsors & publicity r the main supporters of this fantastic spot, beside the fans that r year after year amazed at what some people do.

The best jumpers are big heros in Europe and Japan.
Big hill events can see crowds of over 100,000 people in attendance and sponsors pay very very well. The events are televised live on Euro Sport and also on different domestic channels in Europe and Asia.
