It can be but not really dangerous. l can not skate, the first time l tried l was 21, l could not even stand! l do not think you could get much nore than a few bumps and scratches and very cold extremities from falling on the ice!

Not really, just go slow. Falling on your butt really really hurts though.

Depends, if your like me, anything is dangerous, do not try any games that involve racing a soccer ball down the stairs though, more than likely the ball will win!!

You just have to watch out. Dont ''play rough'' on the ice. Ice skating can be really fun if you make it fun. It can be dangerous if you make it dangerous.

If you've seen Skating with celebrities on Fox, maybe u got the answer to ur question. But l will give u this advice. If u want to skate, go for lessons. Nothing beats a very well taught basic skills in order to learn how to fall down or what part of the body to use for turns, breaking & going backwards.
Of course the degree of risk will depend on the skating discipline u choose. either it be hockey, speed skating, figure skating, jumping barrels.
The main thing is not to have fear & let yourself fall down & not resist the fall. The best way is to fall on ur butt & never have ur wrists twisted.
Also, try to avoid falling on ur back & that ur head touches the ice or else u may get a cranian traumatism.
Like l told you, don,t be scared, but enjoy ur skating!!!

l agree that it is dangerous. l am even scared to go ice skating on the ice now.because l fell and hurt my arm and now l know l am not going to go on to ice!i hurt my self when l was 7 years old.

It sorta depends. If you're reckless, then it is. My coach always says not to be scared. l skate and most skaters at the rink only get injured outside of skating, one broke her wrist playing basketball and another got hit by a car. l am jumping a lot right now and fall a lot and really hard, but the worst that ever happened to me was a bruise. l really do not think you should be scared if you do it right. You should look into group lessons.
