What is a good snowboard brand for a beginner.... I'm looking at a brand called 5150.. any input

Anything is ok for a beginner.After about two seasons you should get new gear again,by then will know your riding style and get the board you will love.I'd buy a Never Summer,American made in Colorado.

5150, Limited, Sims, Lamar, Morrow r all good, lower-priced boards for beginners.

However. have u boarded before? If not, I'd suggest u rent & try a few different boards while u find ur personal preferences (likes/dislikes) & ur riding style (freeboard, freestyle, etc.). While it might require extra funds in the early going, renting will help save u money in the long term, such as making the mistake of buying a board u wont like in terms of style, graphics, etc.

There are a lot of really goos snowboard brands out there. 5150 is nice, but you should be most concerned about SIZE of snowboard. Getting the right size board is the most important thing. A snowboard improperly sized to the rider can break a good time.
