hey l just bought a pretty sweet board at zoomies and l figured l could find some pretty cheap bindings/boots on ebay. any suggestions? l honestly have no clue about anything when it comes to products. l started snowboarding last season and borrowed boards from friends, l road a burton, saloman and some cheap a$s hundred dollar board and couldnt tell the diference between any of em. Anyways. know any good models or brands that are cheap, yet will last? What should l NOT buy? Thanks

The biggest part about boots is making sure they fit. Your heel should fit securely in the boot without being able to lift up. Had a big problem with this myself. Tried all the expensive ones. Burton, saloman, heel lifted up in all of them. A lower end RIDE boot ended up working the best. Then the RIDE boot would not fit right in the burton bindings l wanted either. They fit best with the RIDE bindings. (boots & bindings r going on 7 years of use now.)
All in all, if u go the ebay route, go to a board shop first & find out what is going to fit/work best for you. Then see if u can find the same on ebay. But buying something just bc it is cheap might just end up taking away from experience.
And if ur still just starting out, I'd recommend staying away from the step-ins for now. Stick with the strap-ins. Strap-ins r a bit more responsive.

Boots r by far & away the most important part of buying equipment. Take ur time & try on as many different pair as possible. Do NOT buy them sight-unseen on ebay. There is nothing worse than boots that do not fit right. Also, do not fall into the trap of buying boots that r too big. If, when trying a boot on, it fits perfectly then it is TOO BIG. New boots should fit tight as they will break in. At the shop, boots should make u think that if they were just a bit bigger they'd be perfect. Often this will require u buying a boot that is at least half a size smaller than ur normal ''street'' shoe size. This is perfectly fine, l get a lot of days riding & always buy boots a full size smaller than my street shoes. They hurt a bit the first couple times out but after they break-in they fit very well & perform great.

Its not the best idea to buy second hand boots unless u can try them on first which u can not through ebay. Any brand of boot is good if it feels comfortable to you, ur best bet is to have a price in mind & go down ur local shop & see what boots they have in ur price range & try them all on wheather u like the colour/style or not, as its vitally important that ur boots fit u well & u should go for the ones u find the most comfortable.
As far as bindings go secondhand ones will be ok l usually go for Ride as they r comfortable & seem to last long.

Yeh, like the folks above said, try on boots at your local shop. If you do not have one near, try an online shop http://frostyrider.com/shops/online_shops.htm
Get the smallest boot size that will fit comfortably. In other words, dont go to big or too small goldie locks.
