How many ski resorts are there in Japan

Skiing is a very popular winter sport in Japan, & there r many ski resorts u can visit. Most of the famous Japanese ski resorts r located in the Chubu region & Hokkaido. Hakuba area in Nagano (Chubu region) is one of them. In the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, Downhill, Super G, Jumping, Biathlon, & Cross Country competitions were held there.

Skiing in Japan can be costly for u since the accommodations, food, & lift tickets tend to be expensive. However, if u stay at ''Minshuku,'' which is a private guest house, the cost is cheaper. There r many minshuku around any ski resort. It is a good idea to visit the local Kankou Annai-jo (Tourist information center).

They usually have a list of minshuku in their areas.

Many ski resorts have hot springs (onsen) nearby. Nozawa Onsen in Nagano is a popular ski resort with hot springs. There r many public baths there, so u can take a bath for a small fee. Bathing in the hot springs after skiing is one of Japanese people is favorite things to do. To relax both ur mind & body, please join the bath time with other skiers.
