l started snowboarding last season for my first time and now l got the hang of it quite well. Last season l rented all my equipment, but I am now looking to get my own board, boots and bindings. What type/size board should l get? I am an average/built 23 year old guy 6'0 tall, 200 lbs. I am looking for a durable/low maintnance board made from WOOD from the best factories (do not care what brand) Something under $300 would be awesome too.

-Length- TO the nose
-Flex- Just enough
-BOARD- Burton Bullet ($269.99 last time l checked)

Binding- its really up to you l have used K2 bindings or the past 6 years so id SAY a K2 binding

Boots like the bindings dont really matter- l actually buy most of my boots used. l like having an inner ''boot'' keeps your feet warm. But really for a boot, its all about your comfort.

l swear on Burton Snowboards. My boyfriend bought me a brand new Cruzer for Christmas & l am so in love. l rode a burton before my new one too. To test the length of the board, the best way to make sure u get the right size, is stand it up on it; is nose, the other end should come right to ur chin. You can always modify it from there as u get better. l am a girl at 5'6 & l ride a 160. Some would say that is too big for me, but l love riding big mountain & l crave going fast. You will find the board thats best for you, but definetly ask the people at the store u buy it, any snowboarder who is a real rider can help u with this. Good luck!

The first guy said boots do not matter..well, he is wrong. Very Wrong

Boots r the most important part. Take as much time as u can & try on as many pair as u need to find the right fit. A boot should not fit perfectly in the store as they will stretch after being ridden in a couple of times. When trying on boots if u think to yourself ''this boot would fit perfectly if it were just a bit bigger'' u have a good fit.

Board length has NOTHING to do with how tall u are. A board knows a few things about its rider. How much they weigh, how big their feet are, how aggressive they r & what type of riding they do. It has absolutely no idea how tall u are. If u were short & heavy or very tall & thin u would'nt want a board that came to ur nose, would you?

If your looking for length of the board, measure from about your lip or chin in centimeters, that is the length you want. Also it depends on what you want to do, if you go to the park a lot, get a park board, if you just like riding, get a more versatile board. You should be able to find a board under $300 easily, just check local stores. Remember that boots and bindings are much more important then the board, so try and get those first.

so good & some dodgey ones, good points, boots & bindings r clearly the most important, buy those, u r a big guy so u want stiffer boots & bindings, while not neccessary it is best to buy boots & bindings from the same manufacture, salomon makes good boots especially with the minus 1 technology ( l am guessing u foot size is bigger then 10) which basically gives u a snowboard boot with the volumn of a shoe, anyway those will cost u a bit though, but they r a good investment, try on many types of boots, some r meant for wider feet & some for narrow (a good shop employee will know the difference) anyway get boats & bindings & then demo boards if u want or do like l do & buy on graphics alone, no it really depends on where u find yourslef riding, probably all mountain, the shoter the board the easier it is at the beginning & the harder it is at speed, u probably want between 165 & 175 & (if wide feet) 26.5 to 28 in the middle u want some medium flex but stay away from burton (except for their bindings) lib tech or gnu = personality & happiness
