what is figure skating? how did it originate and from where?

Figure skating is a sport where the skater learns different skills like jumping, spinning & doing artistic movements with music, on ice skates. It initially originated in the beginning of the 1800 is where all the people that used to skate in lakes, began to do some artistic moves on skates.
Then in England, skating clubs were formed to learn different skills & specially figures (hence the name) which were (they were abolished in 1994) turns & steps done on a figure 8 pattern.
Then, when the skaters were advanced, they added dancing & jumping. it is only less than 40 years that the sport became so demanding by doing triple & quadruple jumps (when the skater jumps in the air they make three or even four rotations before landing) It is a beautiful sport, & l recomend u to see it beyond the ''ice show'' it is very cool & extreme!!!

l am a figure skater and figure skating is a very graceful sport.Like people skate for years and start when they are really young.it is so fasanating l love it.it may be tricky at first but you will get use to it.you should try it
