Why do not you see if they would at least meet with a coach that specializes in competitive skating, and get his or her opinion.

Find some ice skating competition for people your age in your area and tell your parents about them. And keep practicing.

•Earn ur own money, or ask for sponsors to pay for ur skating.

•Practice, practice, practice, & practice.

•Put all ur heart & focus into figure skating.

•DON'T GIVE UP!

•Eat right, exercise ur body, & mind.

•If u try to ask ur parents for anything try to keep the conversation at a peaceful level, do not whine. Instead of negative remarks, or anything of that sort. Instead make them realize that u r up to competitive skating.

•If u have a will there is a way, & in the end all will be well.

what about your ice skate teacher? if u r really that good, then your teacher will approach your parents. or your teacher will put u n upper level competition and then your skating will show your parents and the world when u bring bak that gold medal

Maybe your ready, but maybe they're not financially ready

competitive skating is very very expensive your parents might not be able to afford it you have to pay for ice time to practice, and you have to buy skating outfits and good competitive skates could cost hudreds of dollars and if your still growing these thing have to be replaced when you grow out of them

*Make sure you have good grades.

*What jumps and spins can you do?

*Beg your parents, and if they say no just wait a bit!

Make money to sign up for the competition, there are cheap dresses out there and there are sales with used dresses you dont have to be all sparkles and glitter, the judges are judging you on how you skate and then practice very hard and l bet they would let you.

trust the wisdom of your parents. they are usually wiser than us and they know better. they probably feel that you can still get better. i'm sure they are aiming for a gold for you and not just merely a silver or a bronze. perhaps they are waiting and making sure that once you join a competition you will bag the gold. patience sweetie.

Starting to compete is a big step in figure skating. Competing can be lots of fun, but is also a lot of hard work & stress. Make sure u have a local competition in mind when u ask ur parents. They r not going to want to drive really far for ur first ever competition. Another important factor is ur coach. Does he/she feel that you're ready & want u to compete? To really be ''ready u will need a dress, music cut to the appropriate length, a program choreographed with all the required elements (your coach will do this), & a competition in ur area. You should have ur coach talk to ur parents about the pros/cons of competing. For example, if u r in USFSA & want to compete, that will usually mean cutting back on freestyle testing. To start out, IS l competitions r much better, i.e. low key & just lots of fun. (If u do not know what l am talking about, IS l & USFSA r the two figure skating unions in the US who run all of the competitions. You will need to be registered with one of them in order to compete. Or both, if u want.) Anyway, ur coach should be able to tell ur parents all about the competition process, & in a very professional way. And remember, do not whine or nag ur parents. Present ur wants very responsibly & explain why u think u r ready. Do ur research, so u can list exact dates & locations for competitions. Also, make sure u talk to ur coach! Good luck!

They might think you are ready if you start spelling correctly.

As long as you feel ready 2 compett then you are. Since you have the desire you will succed. l can not garante that you will place ver high, or be able to compete on a very high level, but there are always small shows that you can start out w/.

u should maybe work aas hard as you possibly can show them that u are good enough and that u have what it takes

show them how good you are, or just improve more on what you know.

if you know that you are ready, GO FOR IT!!!!

l think you should talk to them and say.. l have pride in my skating and l wanna show everyone. somethin liek that. and tell them you wanna take chances. it also depends your level. where you at?
