I'm 6', how long should my downhill skis be

Depends on your skill level. The longer the skis the faster you will go. Shorter skis are also easier to maneuver.

It does depend on your skill level, but what can tell you is that you should not go with less than 175-180 cm for a beginner up to no bigger than 195 cm for an intermediate skier of your height.

It is about skill level. With the shaped skis, the length has come down considerably from what we used to ski on.

l am an ''expert'' skier, & l am on 185's, which r pretty much a perfect fit for me. l am also about ur height, maybe half an inch shorter.

If u r a beginner, u should rent first anyways, & they will put u on probably something like 170's, or a touch smaller.

l would not go much over 190 is if u r a blue or black skier.

Okay, l have lots of experience of this from ski racing. The absolutely perfect (shaped) skis should come to the tip of ur nose/middle of ur eyes. Skis like these will give u equal control & speed, & be comfortable for GS courses. If u r talking about downhill as in the DH (race course) go for skis that reach ur forehead, not the top of ur head. Skis that reach ur forehead will go faster but u will not have as much control, so if u go for the longer skis make sure u have good leg strength. Slalom skis should be at about ur mouth/chin area, because in a slalom course it is all about technical & control, not so much speed.

But if u r just skiing for the fun of it, stick with the skis that reach ur nose/eyes. They should be relatively stiff because of ur size. And remember, l am talking about shaped skis. Straight skis were way before my time!
