The best way to go down a mountain is by not going up in the first place. You are already there where you want to be. down

Good question.

Have u tried Telemark skiing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telemark_skiing

Or, if you've been doing conventional skiing on standard skis, try going for race carvers or extreme carvers. (very very short carving skis with pronounced shape. Be careful not to allow ur boot to be fixed too high as it will invalidate ur accident insurance because ur knee gets strong forces applied.)

Also, u could go for Moguls, airials (sp?) or if you're really desperate - ballet.

If your gettin bored skiing then chances are, your skiing below your level. Try more difficult runs which may include moguuls or glades. Maybe try doing jumps and tricks. Cliffs are also really fun. If the pros are still enjoying skiing, then you should be too

I've skied for 30 years, and l am not bored. Are you at a small mountain (or hill)? That could do it. Take a vacation, travel to an exotic place! Even though my mountain is awesome (Alta, Utah), l still go to other places from time to time just to change things up.

Telemark skiing is definately an alternative, although it is hard to pick up once you have skied all your life, since many of the motions are completely opposite of downhill skiing.

Hey, start racing! l am never bored with a good course, there is always the challange of beating a new or a different course, or improving ur time, or beating the pacesetter is time. In most areas, there is a NASTAR program, which is a nationwide race organization. NASTAR sets up courses around the nation & for a small fee u can race all day long & check on ur progress online that night. It is a public race, for anyone who wants to participate. If u turn out pretty good, u might be invited to the Nationals, which r held in Colorado this year. Ski racing is a blast & it really teaches u how to ski. Also, u make lots of friends hanging out on the slopes together waiting for ur run. Usually, the people who run the NASTAR courses r part of the ski school, & awesome fun to hang out with & exchange stories. l love racing & l cannot wait for the season to start! Ahh! Two & a half more months!

A good pair of carving skis are a pleasure to ride down any piste.
Snowboarding is heaven on phat powder days.
Fat boy skis (for off piste) are hard to master but amazing fun.
Snowscooters are quite mental
