l am looking for a new board and l just wanted to know how you know if you are getting the right board for your height

if you are a new snowboarder probably right below your nose to ensure control.
if you are more advanced get a longer board you will go faster but are harder to control if you have never been on a board before.

Well hieght wise between ur chin & nose should be good as for what the other girl said about it being longer for speed l do not know many boarders that board for speed l mean do not get me wrong going fast is fun but it wont vary to much in ur speed if ur begining l would try & make sure the board is freestyle so that u can decide how u want to ride & assuming ur a beginer l would try & buy as cheap as board as u can incase u do not like it. Your weight & shoe size can matter too Me l am a bigger guy so l need a wider board than normal not to mention the fact that l take a size 14 boot so the width helps a lot with preventing ur toes form digging into the snow. Hope this helps

the top should be between your chin and nose, but if you plan on continuing growing, a shorter one would be better so you can keep using it longer.

Contrary to popular opinion, the length of a snowboard has very little to do with height and everything to do with weight.

Think about it - what does a snowboard do? It distributes your weight across the snow.

A simple internet search - or your local store - will provide plenty of guidance on the appropriate length of board. There is really no subsitute for trying out different board sto see which you like best.

The end of the board when standing up, should be about between your chin and nose.

The shop where u buy it will be able to determine that. l have no idea what ur dimensions r or what type of riding you're looking to do so l really can not pinpoint. If the shop does not seem to know what they're talking about & r just looking to sell u whaever it is they got, then it is time to go someplace else. Trust me, u do not want to spend hundreds on a package that sucks because u did not know, or just did not shop around. Oh, & screw that up to ur chip BS, it worked when the boards looked like Sweedish Fish, but with the new tech out there now & the products more diversified to meet the exact type of riding u want to do, u will want to have a pro assist you.

well bigger boards r for going faster and smaller boards r for tricks. for a beginer u would want a board between ur nose and mouth

Alasdair M is exactly right. Board length has NOTHING to do with how tall u are. A board knows a few things about its rider. How much they weigh, how big their feet are, how aggressive they r & what type of riding they do. It has absolutely no idea how tall u are. If u were short & heavy or very tall & thin u would'nt want a board that came to ur nose, would you?
