Curling is a sport played big time in Canada. It involves a 'stone' and a broom. Ca not tell you much more than that.

do not know the context in which you are using the terms, but curling is a scandanavian sport that you may have seen in the olympics in which one player slides a large stone along an icy way, and other players use brooms to try to speed up or slow down the stone to control where it stops.

No, they are different. The sport of curling involves a team of three people. It is sorta like shuffleboard but on ice.

The sport of curling is nothing like curling weights. The object of the game is to get the stone as close to the ''tee'' hole in the center of both circles at the opposite end of the ''court''. A person slides the stone down the ice & peopl with brooms curl the ice in front of the stone, thus the name curling. when the court is made they put a sheet of ice down & take warm water & drop the tiniest drops of the water to make little bumps that freeze instantly. When the curlers broom the ice, it creates friction which melts the micro beads & all of the stone is touching the ice which slows the stone down.
