l do not know a whole lot, but l have seen some elderly people in my Dad is club use a piece of shaped PVC piping to throw their rocks. This allows them to stand upright while making their shots. Basically enables seniors that have limited flexibility to stay in the game. By the way, it is amazing the touch some of these players have developed using this method, some amazing shots are made this way.

Curling for people with disabilities is really gaining momentum since it was in the Torino Olympics. Check out this report on wheelchair curling. It is a good place to start gathering your information:

You can also check with the curling association in your country. They will be glad to advise you!

Good luck and have fun!

l am pretty sure to curl in a wheelchair you'd need to use the stick. Its basically a pipe with a coil of metal on the end to hook onto the rocks handle. It is tricky though! I've tried & its hard to get the hang of!

Also id like to say that l think it is reallly great that u want to take up curling. It is definitely a game of skill & strength, & l totally hope u can do it from ur wheelchair. One of our clubs host a curling night for blind people & l think its great! Curling is a VERY big part of my family, i've grown up in a curling rink really. Its all we talk about at the dinner table! So u have my complete support!

I'd go to ur local curling rink & talk to a coordinator of a league about curling from ur wheelcahir. It may be difficult though, because of the wheels on ur chair. that may affect ur chances!!! but good luck!
