l have tenatively narrowed it down to:Whistler, Jackson Hole, Big Sky, Lake Tahoe, Utah, or Colorado.l plan on moving out there in January and staying for the remainder of the season.Please give me your advice.

Go to Salt Lake City. That we you get the best of both worlds.

well l live here in Montana and Bozeman is perfect surrounded by mountains and only minutes from ski hills. big sky is one hour away and the job market is unbelievable. l mean there is like 5 pages of want adds in the paper. If you'd like you can come and visit and see what you think. me. cassa a su cassa

You should most definately move to colorado.

you might want to consider making sure you have a job BEFORE you move.

Moving in January - most of the seasonal jobs will already be filled. So try to land one before you go, or you might have trouble finding one at all. there are a LOT OF PEOPLE who try to do what you do - so there is a lot of competition.

Himalaya.

Move to Avon, CO. It is centrally located between Beaver Creek Ski Resort and Vail Ski Resort. It is an awesome little town with the best night life l have ever seen. It is hard to find a place to stay, so make your plans early if you plan to live there.

have you ever heard of mt. washington in Vermont. it is beautiful there! trust me l know, because l climbed it.

l moved to the mountains five years ago from NY state. l chose Salt Lake City, Utah.

Your decision kind of depends on you, ur likes & dislikes, etc.

Whistler - u have to live in Canada, or commute quite a ways. Wet coast powder.it is really beautiful there, but the snow is wet as cement.you do not get that great powder.

Jackson - probably the best terrain in the US, but very isolated, expensive, & cold in the winter. What will u do for a job? You can live in Utah, Montana, or Colorado, & drive weekend visits to Jackson if u like.

Big Sky - also isolated, but without the terrain of Jackson. Big Sky is not in my opinion, a great place to ride. It is ok.but not great.

If l were you, l would focus on either Colorado, or Utah. The difference will come down to ur personality.

Utah has generally better quality snow (it is true), & more snow throughout the season. For example, the mountains in the Wasatch (Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, & Solitude) average around 500 inches per year. Alta got over 600 inches of dry pow last year. In comparison, Steamboat gets around 350 inches per year.

In Colorado, u will get better quality beer, & maybe better nightlife. In Utah, people know how to party, but mostly at house parties. The bar scene sucks.

You probably would not want to live in Denver.it is a rat race getting to the mountains on I-70 Saturday mornings. Telluride might be nice, or just east of that, Wolf Creek. l have not skied either of those resorts, but l want to.

Colorado is big on drugs.Utah is big on religion.

Like l said, it is up to you.

l can ignore the religion, & the bad beer, for the fact that the skiing at Alta/Snowbird is the best in the country, except for Jackson.

The nice thing about Utah, so many people r religious, not too many hit the slopes. Even on a two-foot day, Sundays there r barely any lift lines.it is suprising if there are. I've skied fresh powder past noon in mid-March.

Go for Lake Tahoe. California is a great place; l know because it is my home. There are so many wonderful places to snowboard in Cali. l love to go to Kirkwood.the powder is sick!
Go for Cali. You could settle in Reno, lake Tahoe, Donner, Truckee.all great places. Good luck!
