I am new to Denver and the season is coming up. Apparantly l will be up in the hills most weekends this winter. I've never been on the slopes before and l have to choose between skiing or boarding. What are the ins and outs of each and which should l do?

None. You will hurt yourself.

l have skied since the age of three due to living in Norway & then 'converted' over to snowboarding in my late teens. Which one u will prefer is ultimately down to you. But l can say that if u r only going to do either one for a short period as just a bit of fun l would honestly say go for skiing. This is simply because, in my opinion, it is easier & quicker to get up & running with skiing than it is with snowboarding - l think snowboarding is harder to get to grips with. Having both feet strapped to a single object thus disallowing independent movement of ur legs take some getting used to! However, l think if u r prepared for the challenge snowboarding is more rewarding, has a lot more scope & is simply much more fun!

denver, sweet l just came back from there. if you are new then l would go for skiing, its much easier to learn, and quciker as well. plus after only a week, depending on your age, you might be able to go down some good runs on ski's, but not on snowboards. once you get better, skiing is much faster, it doesnt look as good as snowboarding, and its not as cool either, but l prefer skiing to snowboarding

Believe it or not, you CAN do both (just not at the same time). l know a few people who snowboard one day, ski the next. No problems there.

Or, you could take a ski lesson and rental package one day, and snowboard lesson and rental another day (any ski resort will offer both). Try both out, decide for yourself which one you enjoy more.

Most importantly, have fun!

snowboarding takes a lot less skill once you get past the learning curve(it will take about 3 days straight), but you wo not have as much fun on all of the runs. I'd say go with skiing as snowboarding is a trendy thing. when you're an older woman you will appreciate your ability to ski.

Snowboarding is easier and easy to learn.

well denver is amazing and you wo not want to waste a ton of time learning.so go with skiing because it is far easier to pick up for a first-timer.and, when you feel comfortable.by all means try boarding

l tried snowboarding.it is pretty hard to learn. But l known a lot of good skiers who turned snowboarders & never looked back so go figure. There r lots of pluses for both. Snowboarding is waaay cooler, the clothes look better, u only carry u board (as opposed to boots/poles/skis), & u can wear the snowboard boots to hang out afterwards. Skiing is better because u can go down on anything with skis like ice & moguls, it is a lot faster, if u do tricks in the terrain park skiing there will make u stand out from the snowboarders. And oh yes, it is easier to learn.
