This depends a lot on you. Some people prefer shorter skis, some people prefer longer. It also depends on how old your skis are as recently skis have become wider and wider. l would go with the chin for the type skiing you suggest.

If between sizes, opt for the shorter pair. The shorter, wider shaped skis will still hold on hardpack, float in powder, and skirt between moguls.

There r many factors that come into picking the right type & size of ski for you. Questions u need to answer include:
1. What type of trails do u like to ski on (groomed, back-country, moguls, park & pipe, etc.)?
2. How long have u been skiing & how would u classify yourself?
3. What r u skiing on now?
4. What do u want ur skis to do for you.

The to these questions will help decide on the right ski & then what size u should get. Some skis that have an aggressive side cut (the shape of the ski) a person can tend to go shorter. You must also remember that skis may look the same from different companies, but material construction can also make a difference on ur size.

You should really go to a specialty ski shop. The employees r trained to help u get into the right equipment.
