hahaa...''my ignorance you're amusing you clown. There are a multitude of other sports which require many more skills far beyond this ''sport''. Why should not golf, surfing, skateboarding, American football be added to the olympics. Hell, why not add a sport that allows someone to parachute and try to fall precisely onto a marked target? l would see much more skill in that.

It is a very precise sport that requires an extensive amount of skill. The definition of sport is essentially any competition that requires skill. Do not blame the competition for your ignorances.

The reason curling is at the Olympics and not the other sports you listed is because most of the other sports are much more popular here in the USA rather than the rest of the world. The only exception would be golf, which was an Olympic sport at one point, but lack of interest caused it to be removed from the Games. As for curling being a sport, not only does it take extreme skill and precision, it takes a surprising amount of athleticism -- l recommend that you try it.

Curling is a sport because whether u want to acknowledge it or not, there is physical activity involved. If u try it u will be sore the next day. But curling is more than physical activity it is about accuracy, being able to read the ice & most importantly u have to be very flexible in ur straegy since 1 shot can change it completely. The other sports u list l do not see why they should not be events in the Olympics. Just because it is not popular in 1 country (especially in the U.S.) does not mean it should not be in the Olympics. Canada, the U.K., the Netherlands, Japan, Italy etc. all have a strong market of curling.
l am sure the U.S. said the same thing about hockey but it eventually became a sport some Americans watch. Expand ur mind because curling is a sport .
Here is a part of the defintion of sport from dictionary.com ''an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess & often of a competitive nature''
Athletic - curling yes, u must be able to endure sweeping, & being able to slide 40 lbs rocks down the ice & different speeds with control & precision. Activity - curling yes, enough said. Requiring skill - l would like to see u draw, guard, or hit as the call was on the first time u try curling because it wo not happen. Competitive nature - curling yes, although millions of dollars is not up for grabs, there r world curling tours, cash & championships.

Two of three things are needed for anything to be considered a winter sport, frozen water (ice or snow), possibility of blood loss, consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Curling fufills all three.

That is exactly what l used to think, but then l realized that it is actually pretty fun to watch. l even started playing it this year, & it is unbelievably hard.just try it once. It is a great sport.great for the Olympics as well. It is just not popular enough in most places. Again, just try it & u will understand.Sweeping is very tiring.knowing when to sweep or not is not easy.throwing the rock to where ur Skip wants it is amazingly very hard because of the varying ice conditions.it is not just shuffleboard on ice, it is much, much harder.

nope, not a sport. anytime an overweight person, who would probably pass out from running a kilometer, is the primary ''athlete'' its not a sport. yeah okay it takes extreme precision to be a curler.. blah blah.. well it takes extreme concentration & precision for a drunk person to drive home illegally after a party.. we dont just call that a sport. & they r probably going to be sore the next day (stomach hurting from throwing up). but that doesnt make it a sport. like come on. l think id rather watch grass grow. & because theres not millions of dollars at stake is the reason why it shouldnt be a sport, because nobody cares enough about it to sponsor tournaments so they can have decent prize money. which would u rather watch, a downhill ski race where they go 130-145 km/h down an icy mountain where if they make a mistake they mangle themselves & break bones. or would u rather watch an overweight man with a track jacket & a broom sweep the ice, & if they make a mistake, a rock hits another rock. oh my god. thats fuck ing exciting.
so im sorry to all of u curling lovers that like to defend it to the bitter end, but its not a fuck ing sport give it up, it takes no athletic ability & everything u do, if u r good at it, takes a lot of skill.
CURLING ISNT A SPORT!!
