Basically a mother who has a child who plays hockey and supports the child and likely the team and helps out (driving to games, bringing refreshments, etc.) so like a soccer mom.

Many think that hockey is a more dangerous sport than soccer and so hockey moms are supposed to be tougher, more able to handle the blood and guts. Clearly people who think this have never gotten kicked in the face with a cleat.
